Rev. Niles R. Wilson - Pastor -

Pastor Niles R. Wilson is a native of Newark New Jersey.  He attended schools in the Newark Public School system, and is an alumnus of Arts High School.

Following high school, Pastor Wilson attended Kean College before attending and Graduating from the Institute of Audio Research with a focus on Audio Engineering and Multi-Track Recording.  Pastor Wilson is a graduate of the United Bible College and Seminary, the Evangelical Bible Institute, Kean University, and the Divinity Bible Institute.  He has earned a Bachelor of Theology, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Religious Education Degree.  In addition, he is a graduate of the Newark Police Academy and the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico Virginia. Since retiring, Pastor Wilson has returned to school and is pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Christian Education from Divinity Bible Institute.

Pastor Wilson accepted the call to Ministry and was licensed in 1993 while a member of the Greater Harvest Baptist Church and under the leadership of the late Rev. Charles Banks.  He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in June of 1994.  

In December of 1995, Pastor Wilson was called to serve as the second Pastor of the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church, which was organized in 1954.  He began his duties on the first Sunday in January 1996.  

Since that time, Pastor Wilson has worked diligently to preach, teach, train, and prepare the body of Christ for the work of Kingdom Building.  Pastor Wilson has led Greater Cornerstone into this millennium with a focus on serving God and living a committed Christian lifestyle.  His passion for ministry and the people of God has been the driving force behind all that he does. 

In addition to serving as the Pastor of Greater Cornerstone, Rev. Wilson spent 27 years in public service with the Newark Police Department. During his career he served in many Command Rank positions including Deputy Police Director from (2007-2011) On October 1, 2017 he retired from the Police Department as a Captain. 

Pastor Wilson is a member and Past President of the United Clergy of the Oranges.  He is also a member of other fraternal law enforcement organizations throughout the State. 

Pastor Wilson is married to the talented and anointed LaTosha Wilson; and they are the proud parents of two daughters (Alyssa and Kayla).  Pastor and First Lady Wilson are residents of Orange NJ, and on September 18th, they celebrated their 25th wedding Anniversary. 

LaTosha Wilson - First Lady -

Lady LaTosha L. (Hay) Wilson was born in Newark New Jersey, and she is the eldest of two children and spent her childhood growing up in Newark and Irvington.  

She received her elementary and secondary education from parochial schools located in Newark.  In 1990 she graduated from the St. vincent Academy High School in Newark.  Immediately following High School, Lady Wilson attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science and Technology and has completed two Master of Science degrees; one in Management and the other in Adult Learning via online studies at the University of Phoenix in September of 2009.  She is currently completing her certification to be an online facilitator for adult learners. 

Lady Wilson currently serves as the Associate Director of the Campus Center at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and has aspirations to one day become a dean at the University.  The other roles she currently serves are, Past President of the United Minister Wives & Widows of Newark and Vicinity, Corresponding Secretary for the NJ Association of Minister Wives and Widows, but her most loving role in life is being the dedicated wife of Pastor Niles Wilson, and the committed and "on the go" mommy of her loving daughters Alyssa and Kayla. 

First Lady Wilson accepted Christ at an early age and is a proud daughter of the New Salem Baptist Church in Newark under the pastorate of the late Rev. John L. Toler.  As a member of New Salem Baptist Church, Lady Wilson was very active in the choir, the Usher board, and the Sunday School.  She is an energetic "get it done" woman of God.  She has dedicated herself to the ministry of the church, and she is a strong believer in her husband's visionfor the church. 

She constantly thanks God for her upbringing in a Christian home, early beginnings in the church, but most of all for the Godly mentors that are a continuous part of her life.  Lady Wilson is truly a wonderful woan of God, and a treasure to the members of Greater Cornerstone.  

She is often asked the question "How do you manage the responsiblity of a working mother of two active daughters, wife of a bi-vocational Pastor, friend, and leading lady of a congregation"?  Her response is taken from the word of God. 

Isaiah 26:3 "The Lord will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you". 


Rev. Dr. Barbara Fields - Associate Minister/Mother's Board -

The Rev. Dr. Barbara Fields joined our ministry team in 2007.  A seasoned woman of God whose wisdom and love for teaching the word of God has blessed the congregation and the ministry team.  Dr. Fields has been married for over 50 years to Deacon Charles Fields; she is a mother, grandmother, and Great Grandmother.  

Dr. Fileds directs the activities and affairs of the Church's Mother's board.  She is also an active member of the Sunday School, and the Ministry Team, working directly with the Pastor on building and maintaining prayer in the church.  

Rev. Pearl Evette Goodman- Gibson - Associate Minister -

Pearl, affectionately known as Evette, was born in Newark NJ to Pastor Clarence and Pearl Elizabeth Goodman and she is the third eldest of seven siblings.

Evette was educated in the Public Schools of Newark and East Orange.  After graduating from High School she attended the Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City North Cariolina.  She later returned to New Jersey and attended the Essex County Vocation School receiving her liceses as a Dental Assistant and X-Ray Technician.   She later returned to school and received her Bachelor of Theology and Master of Theology Degrees from the Jameson Bible College in Philadelphia Pa. 

Ordained in 2012, Rev. Gibson serves as an associate minister at the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church where she accepted Christ, and began her walk witht he Lord.

Evette is the mother of two Children, Jake Elijah Allen and Sarah Sherice Goodman.  In 2014 she became the proud wife of Brother Al Gibson.

In July of 2018, Rev. Gibson relocated to North Carolina.  We thank God for allowing her to share her gift wit the Greater Cornerstone family, and we pray for our sister and her family as she continues her ministry and career in North Carolina.  


Rev. Grace Parham - Associate Minister -

Reverend Glenn Andrews - Associate Minister -

Reverend Glenn Andrews is an Associate Minister at Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church where he has served for fifteen years.  He is the ministry leader for the Men's Ministry, and he serves as a Sunday School Teacher for the Adult Class.  

Rev. Andrews is the founder of Appointed Vision Ministries where he has been led by the Holy Spirit to Minister to Broken Souls in search of healing, and restoration in God.  

Rev. Andrews is married to the love of his life; Sis. Tina Andrews and they are the proud parents of three daughters and grandparents of one.  

Min. Danette (Kelling) Purnell - Minister -

Min. Danette Kelling is a native of Newark, New Jersey, and she is the proud mother of five daughters. 

Danette is a faithful member of Greater Cornerstone's leadership team where she serves as the Director for the Music and Arts Ministries.  She oversees the focus and directions of the music, dance, and dramatic presentations for morning worship, afternoon fellowships, and all special services.  Danette also contributes her talents to the church's Social Media Ministry and it's Sound and Visual Media ministry, and the Pastor's Anniversary Committee.  In addition to serving in leadership, Danette sings with the church's choir, and praise team. Outside of the church she is sings with Dale Ciceron and Optimistic 4 Christ and Psalms of Praise led by Pastor Dale Ciceron.

Danette is an employee of Verizon Communications , and she is a student at Pillar College where she has an  Associate Degree in Biblical Studies and now pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies  and Intercultural Communications.

Danette is a committed woman of faith who values every opportunity to bless God by blessing his people.  This woman of God believes in the word of God and Worship.  At the end of 2017, Danette accepted her call to ministry, and she was licensed to preach on May 11, 2018. 

Sis. Nicole Armour - Executive Secretary for the Pastor -

Sis. Nicole Armour serves as the Executive Secretary for Pastor & First Lady Wilson.  She uses her talents to organize and maintain Pastor Wilson's preaching, teaching, fellowship and administrative calendar and she works directly with the church secretary and clerk in managing the church calendar.  

Sis. Nicole is the primary point of contact for scheduling appointments, meetings, and fellowships for Pastor Wilson, and First Lady Wilson.

Deacon George Morris - Property Management -

Deacon George Morris, Jr. is a native of Newark and Union New Jersey.  He attended schools in the Newark and Union Public School systems, and is a graduate of Union High School.

Deacon George Morris joined the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church in 2007 and was ordained as a Deacon in 2010. He is also a member of the Trustee board were he held the position of Chair and co-chair of the ministry. Deacon Morris is also the Director of building management for the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church and The Ark of Safety. Deacon Morris also serves in the Media Ministry and is a member of the Victory Riders Motorcycle Ministry.

After High school Deacon Morris went to work at a local dealership in the township of Union NJ in their Auto Body shop where he worked for many years. He then went on to work for a local luxury car dealership in Springfield NJ as an automotive body man and painter and then was promoted to body shop manager. He is now employed at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a supervisor of their Auto Damage Appraisal department and has been employed there for the last 18 years.

He is proudly married to his wonderful wife Deaconess Dale Morris, the love of his life and the father of one daughter Nicole (the apple of his eye).  He has always expressed that the most important thing about him is his walk with our lord and saver Jesus Christ. He takes his relationship with the lord seriously and openly confesses his love for Christ and the ministry.

In addition to his family, career and all of the ministries he serves with at Greater Cornerstone, he is an avid car /motorcycle enthusiast and in his spare time can be found in the garage and driveway working on, polishing and tinkering with his collectable vehicles and his Harley Davidson. Deacon Morris as had a love for automobiles and motorcycles from a young age.

Coalet J. Lowe - Deacon -

Deacon Coalet Lowe is the newest member of the Deacon Ministry at Greater Cornerstone.  In June of 2017 he graduated from Bible School, earning a Bachelor of Theology degree.  In addition to serving with the Deacons Ministry, he serves with the Church's kitchen committee and Usher Ministry.  He's also shares the teaching duties for the Adult Sunday School Class.  Deacon Lowe is an avid Fresh and Salt Water Aquarium enthusiast and Dog Breeder.  He is a husband, father and grandfather and a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Deaconess Dale Morris joined the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church in 2007 and was ordained as a Deaconess in 2010.  

She is joyfully married to Deacon George Morris, and the mother of one daughter.  She has always expressed that the most important thing about her is that she is a child of God. 

Deaconess Morris serves the body of Christ and the family of the Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church with a profound spirit of love and joy.  She serves as the Co-Chair of the Deaconess Ministry, she is a Sunday School and VBS Teacher, and she serves with the Usher Ministry.

In addition to her family, career and all of the ministries she serves with at Greater Cornerstone, she is a member of Network of Biblical Storytellers International.

In early 2017 she was led by the Holy Spirit to begin sharing her passion for the word of God and Christin Drama by starting a storytelling ministry "Of Living Water".  For further information, please visit her website at

Bro. Alton Teras Thomas - Minister of Music -

Bro. Thomas is a native of East Orange NJ, and he is the proud husband of Andria Thomas and father of Kamar and Shamar Thomas.  

Brother Thomas began using his musical gifts at Greater Cornerstone in 1996 as a bass player when his brother Erees Thomas was the minister of music for the church.  He later left to accept the Minister of Music position at another church before returning to Greater Cornerstone in 2005 to play for our 7:00pm worship services.  In 2007 he took over the Minister of Music responsiblities and has been successful in transforming the choirs of the church while using his own unique style which is inclusive of traditional and contemporary gospel music.
